Studio Rules & Regulations
Welcome to the Studio with Ms. Nya
At our studio, we believe that discipline, safety, and preparation are the foundations of artistry. As a growing studio in a shared building, we ask all parents and dancers to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a focused and respectful environment for everyone.
1. Payment & Tuition Policy
We operate on a strict "Payment Before Service" model to keep our operations running smoothly.
Full Session Payments: For programs like the NADC Summer Dance Camp ($700), payment is due in full by July 1st.
Weekly/Class Payments: All payments are due at the top of the service week (Monday). If payment is not received by Monday, services will not be provided and the dancer will be asked to leave.
Refunds: All payments—whether monthly, weekly, or for full sessions—are non-refundable.
2. Attendance, Illness, & Performance
Absences: Dancers are allowed 5 absences before a commitment conversation is held. Over 10 unexcused absences per session/year may result in expulsion.
Illness Policy: Please keep dancers home if they have a fever, heavy cold, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Zoom Option: If a dancer is unwell but still wants to participate, they may join the class via Zoomfrom home so they don’t miss out on the choreography.
Mandatory Dress Rehearsals: Attendance is compulsory. You must notify Ms. Nya at least one week in advance of any conflict. Failure to do so will result in the dancer being ineligible for the final performance.
3. Dress Code & Safety
Approved Attire: Leotards, leggings, tights, or flexible T-shirts. No jeans or tight street shirts. (Note: Official studio uniforms are coming soon!)
Jewelry & Hair: Absolutely no jewelry allowed. It is a safety hazard for you and other dancers. Hair must be secured back and away from the face.
Food & Choking Hazards: No chewing gum, candy, or snacks are allowed during dance. This is a serious choking hazard.
Footwear: No outside shoes are allowed on the dance floor. Dancers must be barefoot, in socks, or in dance shoes. Only plain water is permitted on the dance floor.
4. Studio Etiquette & Behavior
Not a Daycare: We expect dancers to be focused and respectful.
Big Feelings: Ms. Nya is always available to talk if a dancer is overwhelmed, but the studio is not a place for misbehavior.
Zero Tolerance: Hitting, yelling, screaming, or unkindness is not allowed.
Three-Strike Rule: After two warnings, a legal guardian will be contacted on the third warning and the dancer must be picked up immediately.
5. Summer Camp Logistics (9:30 AM – 4:20 PM)
Arrival & Early Birds: Camp opens at 9:30 AM. Ms. Nya will greet dancers outside until 9:35 AM. Early birds are encouraged, but please wait in your car until Ms. Nya comes out to receive the group.
Late Arrival: After 9:35 AM, you must contact Ms. Nya for the building code and escort your dancer to Unit #21.
Meals: Breakfast is optional at 9:30 AM. Parents may pick up dancers for lunch, but they must return in time for their next class.
Dismissal: Pick-up is from 4:10 PM to 4:20 PM. A late fee will be applied to your account for any pick-ups after 4:20 PM.
6. Health & Safety (The Pink Card)
The Pink Card: This is your mandatory safety contact card. It must be signed by the legal guardian to document allergies and authorized pick-up persons.
No Card, No Food: Without this signed card, your dancer will not be served any studio-provided food or incentives.
Release Policy: Dancers will only be released to individuals listed on the Pink Card. A call to the legal guardian is required if an unlisted person arrives.
Facility Safety: Ms. Nya will lead scheduled group bathroom breaks. Dancers are never permitted in the shared building hallways alone.
7. Device Policy
Usage: Phones/tablets must stay in bags. They are only allowed during Breakfast, Lunch, or Break times.
Practice Recording: Devices may be used during class only if Ms. Nya gives permission to record choreography for home study.
Responsibility: The studio is not responsible for lost or damaged devices. Dancers are responsible for their own belongings.
