To ensure each piece is polished and performance-ready, all specialized rehearsals (Solos, Duos, and Trios) are 1 hour and 30 minutes (1:30 hr) long. This extended time allows for detailed technical corrections and full run-throughs of the choreography.
Dancers may participate in the following specialized categories:
Solos: A single dancer working one-on-one with an instructor.
Duos & Trios: Consist of two or three dancers learning partnership, synchronization, and shared choreography.
To qualify for a Solo, Duo, or Trio, all dancers must be enrolled in at least one group dance class (Modern, Ballet, Afro/Caribbean, etc.). Participation in a group setting is a mandatory foundation for our specialized performance pieces.
The formation of these sessions depends on whether they are designated by the studio or requested by the dancer:
Instructor Assigned: If an instructor assigns a duo or trio to specific dancers, there is no additional fee beyond the standard monthly tuition.
Dancer Requested: If a dancer requests a Solo, or specifically asks for certain partners for a Duo/Trio, an additional fee of $50 monthly applies.
Please note that there is no age requirement for Solos, Duos, or Trios. However, the following registration steps are mandatory:
Communication: You must inform Ms. Nya exactly who the partners are and provide your preferred dance style(Modern, Ballet, Afro/Caribbean, etc.).
Mandatory Registration: Every dancer involved in the piece must register individually. If all partners have not completed their registration, the class will not be formed.
Schedule Updates: The official schedule will be updated and finalized only after all Solos, Duos, and Trios are fully formed and registered.
Important: As with our standard group styles, consistency is vital. Because rehearsals are 1:30 hr long, attendance is mandatory to ensure the choreography is stage-ready.
